They say that smell is the strongest sense tied to memory. While that may be true, for me it's music that has become the soundtrack that takes me back. Uncle Kracker's "Follow Me" takes me back to high school and driving around in my '79 GMC pickup truck. When I hear Keith Urban's "John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16" I'm right back on my first trip to Nashville for CMA Fest with some of my best friends. Then there's Toby Keith's "I Love This Bar" which was the last song I ever played at Bourbon Jacks in Kent before it closed to relocate.
Hi! I'm Travis Engelhart and I'm the DJ and Owner of Cue it Up Entertainment. If you're still with me, chances are you feel that music is an important part of your life too and if that's the case, I'd love to work with you.
I always knew I wanted to be in business for myself, but I never really knew what I wanted to do. Looking back now, it's no surprise that I found DJing as a passion and a path. I love to host gatherings, get-togethers, shindigs, parties...whatever you want to call them. And music was always a part of them. I would frequently get complimented on my playlists. So, when I was given an opportunity to DJ at my local country bar, I jumped on it.
At that point, I never thought I'd soon be DJing weddings and events. In fact, I even said one time "I have no interest in doing weddings. Besides, I don't have a clue how to do that." Wow! What a difference a few years makes.
One of the regulars at the bar asked me to DJ her wedding and for whatever reason, I said 'Yes!" I got to learning. Not just about how to DJ (and more importantly MC) a wedding but about myself too. I got bit by the bug. I was hooked! I love weddings and I love helping my clients transform this idea of a wedding into a living, breathing once-in-a-lifetime experience.
I believe in serving my clients and to me 'service' is much more than just showing up. I am NOT the DJ who just shows up on your wedding day and plays some tunes and makes some announcements. I get to know my clients and I'll help you plan an awesome reception that's unique to you and your fiancé. Because, after all, you don't want the same wedding your cousin Becky or your best friend Janet had do you?
"Art is how we decorate space, music is how we decorate time."
